Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
- Summarize practice pearls in premium IOL implantation, and state-of-the-science cataract surgical techniques, including the latest evidence-based recommendations on the use of contact lenses before and after cataract surgery.
- Evaluate the state-of-the-science in using premium IOLs to improve refractive outcomes, to manage astigmatism, and to support monovision.
- Review techniques in glaucoma screening and refined trabeculectomy procedures
- Compare screening techniques for refractive surgery candidates and methods for optimizing the ocular surface in these patients.
- Analyze the safety and efficacy of new or refined strategies for managing corneal health, including: evidence-based dosing regimens for anti-infective and anti-inflammatory drugs in cataract and refractive surgery and the rationale behind them, the latest advances in treating corneal disease, and the latest evidence on the treatment of dry eye and ocular allergy.
- Evaluate the use of retinal implants in neuro-ophthalmology, treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration, the state-of-the-science in surgical vision correction in children.
